Hello there. First time poster, I usually lurk on /tg/. I am gonna do a campaign with some friends that would be set on a post apocalyptic future, it has been several centuries after the event that crushed civilization and honestly nobody remembers what exactly happened or what year it is.
I wanna add a radio that simply plays all the songs that the owner has found with the years so the music that I want to play will be very varied and from different genres and popularity.
Finding popular songs is easy but I don't want to make my players listen to songs that they already know because that would kill the immersion. Could you guys please add songs that you like and aren't completely known?
As I said I accept music of all genres and times but I would prefer original songs, not remixes.
Thanks in advance!

what specifically? do you have a time period you are looking for? Or just general accumulation of songs.
Because if you want any era, you could do like "best of" tapes that could be found. 10-20 songs off some cheesy mixtape, all from the same era. Could definitely help you out with that, sounds cool.

Also, if you're willing to put alot of effort into it, that could be a very cool idea for a radio system.
Finding random albums, mp3 players with a few songs on it. Tapes blah blah.

Cracking up at this

now if I had to do it I'd think something along the lines of: "ok, all the nuclear shit has blown up record stores etc, so we have to scavange basements to find music" so you'd have to play very boring run of the mill shit you can find in a random basement with the occasional gem
but if you're just trying to set the mood you could play some station number recording mixed with elevator music/national anthems
or you could play music that fits the environment so yeah we need to know more op
The album Tomorrow's Harvest by Boards of Canada is subtly apocalyptic and very atmospheric
