I never really cared for them that much, especially since I got to know them through their later stuff, which I didn't really like. But two songs from this album are on a setlist of a show I'm playing in a month and I was really pleasantly surprised when I listened to it.
Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll is the only bad track off that album.

I think it's stupid to care what others think of music, and the most patrician thing you can do is enjoy music you actually enjoy. Don't pretend you like an album if its hellaciously unfun to listen to, and don't pretend to not like an album cause others don't

Personally mine is pic related. I know they are p generic, and typical entry level indie. This was one of the first albums I got into back in high school and it gives me nostalgia, even though musically I know it's not thaaaat great.

I don't understand the praise for this album at all, and that's not just /mu/ contrarianism speaking. I love For Emma, but s/t just does away with everything that made For Emma feel so intimate and special. The songs themselves aren't bad, but the production is so fucking sterile and plasticy that its practically unlistenable to me.
pic related will always be the superior 2011 indie album (though not entirely accurate to the thread since FF actually have their fair share of supporters on here)

I get it if the sound isn't your thing, but they're among the best at their niche and they're always /comfy/. Thinking their terrible just makes me think you have an anti-hipster circlejerk that prevents you from enjoying some of the good stuff it's produced

There are a few standout songs on the s/t - Towers, Holocene and Perth for me, in that order. The rest is pleasant to listen to, but kinda blurs together and is kinda forgettable.
I liked HB much more than their s/t. I can't help it.
Also one more for the thread - I can't believe how good this album is, I really hated everything they did before and still kinda do, but this one is one of the best indie albums of the last 10 years for me.
