The best you can do is listen to live recordings from that period (the album "Concerts" is particularly great, if I'm not wrong Chris Cutler's label Recommended Records recently released a rather expansive boxset of live recordings too so try that out) and try out some artists who have tried something similar. The only two I can think of now are

Eh. Didn't break any new ground desu, sounded like a self-indulgent revisiting of older ideas. Theme of Sudden Roundabout sounds really basic and Xylin Room, V-Proc and IV VV IV VV VIII are pretty much just paint-by-numbers Autechre cliches, albeit with great sound design.
However, Surripere is an absolute banger, constantly off-center but also constantly focused.
