14th of April today
Aphex Twin general
I like SAW 85-92 a lot, I really LOVE Xtal, Ageispolis and We Are the Music Makers
I like some of the obvious choices, Come to Daddy is fun and obviously Windowlicker, but I never really got into his other albums.
Any recs?

His second SAW is less ambient techno and more just ambient but it's nice
My personal favorite is Richard D James Album though
>>64049472
Listen to his Analogue Bubblebath series. They are hit or miss but within those EPs are enough great tracks to make another 10/10 ambient techno album
If you stick with him long enough though you will realize drukQs is his crowning achievement
>>64049564
I've been listing to him for a long time and I don't like drukqs. Just too much aimless fucking around. That's also why I don't like computer controlled instruments.
>>64049510
>Alberto Balsam
such a fucking great track. I like how he deconstructs the song at multiple points during it.
>>64049603
You can skip the prepared piano and field recordings if you want but there is still a good hour of blistering drill n bass and other assorted types of electronic music on the album. Those tracks are the main event; the shorter weird tracks are just a diversion
>>64049472
RDJ Album, SAWII, Drukqs, and Syro + his stuff as The Tuss are must hear desu
I swear Aphex Twin is talented enough to make a shortlist of greatest musical virtuosos ever. Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Art Tatum, Charlie Parker, Richard D. James
It's not like all of his albums are 10/10 but you listen to a track like Vordhosbn or minipops and no one else alive right now could make something like that. New sounds with every second of the track that all work together but the tracks all still have patience and are never overproduced
>>64049839
I've found they reduce listener fatigue making it very easy to listen to the whole album from beginning to end. I thought that was the point actually.
>>64050018
Don't fogetting the Analord series.
SYRO was fucking underrated, i mean by his hardcore fans
>>64051744
The reason hardcore fans didn't like it was because it was more of the same. If you were just getting into/returning to Aphex Twin's music, it was a lot better. Same thing with Tomorrow's Harvest.
how old is he?
the absolute madman
>>64051822
what a comfy pic
>>64051822
have you heard of "google"? It's supposed to be really cool, you should try it sometime!
>>64051984
xDDDDDDD reditt :PPPP
>>64049472
>Any recs?
his entire discography
New release from the tuss when?
>>64051978
Yah. Makes me wonder if he still makes ambient. Probably not. I just want a new album this year
>>64049839
>You can skip the prepared piano
Why does no one ever talk about Minipops 67? One of my favorite tracks.
>>64052832
I didn't mean that they aren't good. Avril 14th, Nanou2 and Hy a Scullyas Lyf a Dhagrow are beautiful tracks. But he said drukqs has too much fucking around, and my guess is that someone with that opinion just wants to stay for the important drill n bass tracks
>>64052987
drukqs brilliance is its variety. It has so much to offer.
If you think it's too long just listen to one half a time, you shouldn't skip anything.
avril 14th is cheeks af. pseudo-emotional bullshit, familia
