Philip Glass is a genius, looking for more modern Classic / minimalism like this
Pretty much anything by Steve Reich, who is better.
Glass is good, but his orchestral works can be lacking

>pretty much anything
could you narrow it down there?

Philip Glass is the worst out of the big minimalist composers. Listen to Reich, Adams, Riley, even Pärt or Taverner if you want choral stuff, but Glass is a waste of time.

Why do you say he's the worst?

Music for 18 Musicians, Desert Music, and Electric Counterpoint are some of my favorites of his

I guess it may just be me, but it's far too static. Reich has his phases, Adams has his gradual evolutions, Taverner has his builds, Pärt has his scalic drive and tinntinnabulation... They all go places.
For me, Glass is trying to create a meditative atmosphere, but it just comes off as dull. Although maybe that's the fault of the performers...

Ehh I would say Glass is better than Riley
Glass has some fantastic piano music
>phillip glass
>album cover is glass
BRAVO

That's a pretty interesting point, I don't think it's the fault of performers as I think Glass is intentionally trying to slow down the pace of music to a point where the listener can sit back and take in the moment, or if you'd excuse the pun, 'Reflect at Glass's work'.

>Miles in the sky
>Miles smiles
Who thinks that this is funny?

>Steve Reich
Is it just me or did Family Guy take the whole Ollie Williams "It's gonna rain" gimmick from Steve Reich's "It's Gonna Rain"?
