I have never listened to them and I've heard that their debut album is great. I've never brought myself to really get into them. Are they worth listening to?
Their first album is a UK pop classic. I'd say listen to it. It's summery guitar pop with some dance elements.
Second Coming is mostly a 70s ripoff riff fest.
The first album is easily one of the best rock albums of all time. Every song on there is fucking classic. Their early singles are also really fine, especially Sally Cinnamon and Elephant Stone. The Second coming should however be avoided

I would say it's "end of summer", not full summery. Or just autumn even. It has a dreary feel to it sometimes. I guess Manchester summers probably don't have the same feel to where I am tho.

They probably are. We get a fuckload of rain in Mchester
Were a favourite band for a brief time when going through a pre brit pop phase. First album is a classic. Second Coming is quite as good but is no where near as bad as it's made out to be
The stone roses are fucking amazing and their debut is a strong 9/10 for sure.
Waterfall is the best song on it.
Also they influenced oasis
It's a quintessential British album, and by that, I mean that it probably doesn't evoke the same feelings and emotions from Americans. A bit like how we love football hooligans

They were excellent.
I'm worried about thier forthcoming reunion album though. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

True about Second Coming. Very Led Zep influenced.
I still love it though. John Squire is a truly wonderful guitarist.
