Some stuff goes by too quickly, such as the solo on violet hill, not building off of the jon Hopkins part other than vocals, and all of 42. There's a lot of times where something could be stretched and built upon but it just moves onto the next part. but obviously thats for the sake of being pop-rock music. The only examples of them doing the opposite are on the hidden tracks and the last track.

Most of the album is just Fripp playing over wacky percussion and noise. Exiles just feels like a weaker version of Epitaph or In the Wake of Posiedon

Monkey and Bear has some kind of clunky symbolism, and is weaker compositionally than the rest of the album

The single version of Heaven's A Lie is better than the album version. For whatever reason, the album version adds a needless extra minute of noodling that really does nothing for the track. The pacing just feels a little off once you hear the single version.

The reprise of Nightcruising is so unnecessary, I really fucking wish they would at least do a straight dub track towards the end, to build up for In the Air/Long Season
Writhe and Alan's Wrench are just okay.

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
The story is fucking weird. It's incoherent. The themes are all over the place.
There isn't any big 'tour de force' song on it. Supper's Ready, Musical Box, Cinema Show, Duke's Travels, One for the Vine... Most of their other albums have one or two songs that are powerhouses, this one doesn't have any one single song that matches those.
That being said, Colony of Slippermen is my second-favourite Genesis song and is a masterpiece. But it doesn't quite fit in as a big-hit Genesis song like some of their others.
The album is musically amazing though and fits Peter Gabriel's voice very well. Slippermen costume is fucking cool in a grotesque way.
Who Will Save the Sane kind of jams up the flow and it is kind of a really dark album, that said it is a bummer but I love it.
