As usual, the plebeian thinks Good Morning Captain is the best song
No wonder his ratings on the album are so off too

Don, Amon is in a genre of itself.
Definitely, the most ground breaking song on the album.

7/10 at best

It's first wave post-rock. It's not really much other than that.
>>63897314
oh, right? Which elements do you think make that particular song first wave post rock? Or is that just something you read on Wikipedia, you stupid twat

Breadcrumb Trail is hands down the most evocative song in the whole album. It makes you re-experience love in an innocent and simple yet twisted way that sends shivers down your spine. It does a great job setting an atmosphere, the soft music that turns abrasive and goes back to a calm again. In terms of narrative is also unparalleled in the album.
Where Shadows Make Shadows

It's very raw and unpolished, the instrumentation isn't very complex, and it's compositionally very simple compared to the more difficult and challenging second wave post-rock groups to come
If you actualy bothered to read Wikipedia you'd notice that it has 0 mention of any "waves" in post-rock. Try harder faggot

Prog rock
the best example for me is "habit" off of ought's "more than any other day" album.. fits OP's description perfectly. it's cool how one amazing track can elevate an entire album.
