ITT: Covers that don't fit the music
I really like the music, I just hate the cover. I associate music with color and Pixies music doesn't really say "brown" to me. I've avoided buying a physical copy because of it.
>Covers that don't fit the music
>One of the songs is literally fucking called "Monkey Gone to Heaven"

op is talking about the color scheme of the cover
and he's right I think, I'd never associate brown with pixies
>>63880595
Disagreed. I think the mechanical look of the front cover, as well as the monkey symbolism (for obvious reasons), fits the style of the album almost perfectly.

>I'd never associate brown with pixies
I'd associate brown with later-era Pixies

>brown = sludge
>blue = underwater guy
>5, 6, 7
>monkey
The album cover makes sense, it's just not aesthetically pleasing

What're you talking about, their sound is very heavy and grimey. The rusted colour fits perfectly
If you want an album cover that doesn't fit the music, try this

How is it grimey and sludgey? I can hear every instrument perfectly on this, I think the sound is really clear, especially on songs like Debaser
I've always thought most of Dylan's covers are really boring.
>>63881099
nah most of them are god-tier
>>63881157
>literally a blurry photo of dylan leaning against a wall looking annoyed
>>63881230
I think overall that describes the music pretty well
>>63881686
Anon who posted >>63881099 here I actually agree with you about Blonde on Blonde, but almost everything else is boring. Too many Dylan album covers are just photos of him with not much going on.

if you like this album check out Kal Marks - Life is alright, everybody dies
How about covers that do fit the music?

If you actually owned the album, it's a shiny ink kind of like a metallic rust. Obviously that doesn't translate as well as a digital jpg without natural light shining on it.
>>63881927
Wait, really? That fits perfectly.
>>63881927
it fits more than the original
From the cover, you'd think it's John Denver or Gordon Lightfoot-esque easy listening folk
>>63882399
It is exactly that though :^)
>>63882399
This. . .
>>63880595
I get this too. I used see a white canvas with fluttering splashes of green and yellow for Debaser. Then warm pinks and orange on white
/autism.
>>63880643
what do monkeys have to do with the dog on the cover?
>>63880595
I agree. For me it's not playful enough.
>>63883296
It's a squirrel, you fucking idiot.
It might be just me but the music doesn't really scream "urban city buildings" imo
>>63881135
I love the cover but your right about how it doesn't fit the vibe Tom puts off on most of this album.
>>63880814
the blinding glare of lights fits the glittery yet harsh music on breakup song though
>>63880713
This one sounds exactly like cover when looked in context of his discography.
>>63880595
No matter what you think of the cover, you gotta admit, it's a damn fine album, OP.
>>63883787
I think it's a perfect match with the minimalism and nameless silhouettes jumping off the roof
