I truly think that this album will be remembered as one of the defining releases of the 00's. When I was first getting into music, this album proved that bold experimentation and catchy pop tunes are not mutually exclusive. The songs manage to be both dense and atmospheric, sweet with an abrasive edge, and electronic yet beautifully organic. Although this is not my favorite AnCo release, I do believe that it is their most culturally significant because they proved that they were more than capable of producing a pop masterpiece. There are countless bands both in 2009 and today that try to be "psychedelic" by emulating the sounds of the past, but AnCo did so by producing something wholly unique.
