Hearts/Wires and (L)MIRL are current stand outs for me ATM. Phantom bride gets a shout out because of Cantrell. And pyramids/triangle and doomed user are p decent in context. It'll probably grow on me more, especially when a high quality version comes out.

"Gore", "Phantom Bride" and "Rubicon" might be the best sequence of closing tracks I've heard this year so far. I want a better sounding rip to come out so I can properly judge the rest, though.

It's the first track on the white version of White Pony.
It feels like some cheesy 90's garbage from limp-bizkit, but all the other tracks are great and way different in mood and tone.

Yeah Pink Maggit is my favourite as well. I've always hated that white re-release because it gives people an incorrect impression of Deftones' sound on the album. Anyway this is Chino's thoughts on Back to School.
"'Back to School' was a mistake. A calculated song, that had been built up with only one aim in mind: It should be a single. ... 'Back to School' was released because I was an idiot. I wanted to prove something [to the record company]. Months later, after White Pony was released, they wanted us to do a new version of "Pink Maggit". They said we lost our heaviness, and there were no more singles on the album. First, I wanted to stick this idea up my ass, but then I thought: 'I'm gonna show those fuckers how easy it is to create a hit-single.' And so I rapped a hip hop part on that song, we shortened it and half an hour later, the hit-single was ready to roll on."

Headup and Rickets. Rickets isn't a terrible song, I've just never liked it. Headup is one of their worst songs, and only becomes bearable after 3 and a half minutes.

I love MX a lot, even if it is potentially not as strong as some of the other songs. The girl's voice works well and I love the effect on Chino's vocals in the chorus. I can see why a lot of girls like his voice, he's basically moaning the words during the verses.

i heard singles like change and back to school and had them on my ipod mini for years, but the first full album i listened to was saturday night wrist, which i enjoyed tremendously despite not liking the cheesy opening track and some of the harder songs like rapture and rats. now i love all those song though, which is a testament to this band and how multi-layered they are.
Deftones is the fucking greatest, bless these guys still making music, new album is great as expected.
