Do you think using Last.fm can be bad for you?
Specifically talking about scrobbling and statistics over what you are listening to.
I was getting a bit frustrated when my phone hadn't scrobbled anything for the day, and then I started thinking, what am I really upset about?
It's nice to see all these things you listen to and how they add up. But does it really matter? Isn't the impact that music has on you worth a lot more than a number?
I don't know why, but it's like I'm in a competition with myself when I use the site. Like I listen to a lot of one artist to see how much I like them compared to others, or clarify my identity I guess. Did it unconsciously change how I listen to music?
I might just be a bit crazy, might just be that the site is specifically bad for me.
