Holy fuck, I've always delayed the day I would listen to this due to the disgusting cover.

i can never decide if i like this or spirit of eden better, it changes practically weekly for me

What we can agree on is that they're both perfection.
Sonically the most beautiful things ever recorded.

With spirits it seems like they playing around more and not really actively building something. Laughing Stock feels so complete not to sound pretensious but it uses silence so well and there is almost a tension with every note it is beautiful. Also you probably have but anyone who likes these albums must listen to mark Hollis self titled. It goes even farther down the quiet path

Also does anyone have the cover to there last album that nevwe got made I would be very thankful

Oil and details doesn't automatically make shit tacky, though I agree it's usually a fine line.
Laughing Stock feels more cohesive than Spirit of Eden. Spirit basically blows the load with the opening suite, so the following three tracks feel a bit small in comparison, the silence in between also adds to it feeling a bit disjointed.
Don't get me wrong, I love the album, and I Believe in You is probably the peak of it, but Laughing Stock has your ass tight from Myrrhman to Runeii.
