Bad Moon Rising and EVOL are also excellent
Dirty is their only good album

The stuff before DN is good no wave/noise rock. The early 90's stuff is skippable. The back half of the 90's are a nice experimental period. The 2000's stuff is their most mature in terms of competent songcraft, definitely check that out if you ever wanted a more melodic Sonic Youth.
Literally 6 sonic youth albums matter.
