Fucking this. Their selt titled is like my favourite hard rock album ever.
1. King Crimson- In the Court of the Crimson King
2. Wire- Pink Flag
3. Team Dresch- Personal Best
4. DJ Shadow- Endtroducing....
5. Gang of Four- Entertainment!
Seems like (historically) the most praised debuts are all largely psychedelic or hard rock records from the likes of The Doors, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, LZ, etc. Never seems to be much list-based attention paid to the debuts of bands in the past couple decades.
obvious but whatever

Agree with these two. They were defining albums.
Doors was a completely new sounds out of nowhere, helped pioneer blues rock.
Led Zeppelin was the same thing, everyone was expecting big and they delivered. That first album is a masterpiece. It's textbook heavy blues.
>>63641228
Rage against the machine. That album is one of a kind. There's never been a sound like that before, hasn't been since.
It's like hip hop metal but actually done right. And morello was making magic that entire album.
Pearl Jam
