i like the standout tracks a lot, but as an album it doesn't hold up as well as his other two because the melodies aren't as unique and catchy.
the drums on this records are crisp as fuck though. so nice.
I hated Tame Impala until I was listening to this Aussie radio show who just played non-stop Tame Impala. Made me appreciate it somehow

It's not shit, it's trash.

it's a piece of dogshit that someone threw in the trash
If you don't strictly adhere to the acceptable things to like and dislike on /mu/, this album is pretty good, at least in my experience. It is a pretty large shift from the sound they were playing with in many ways, but there's enough similarities to keep someone who was previously a fan interested, and overall was a pretty decent synthpop/neo-psych album.
Currents is probably my most recent favorite album ever.
I've been smoking pot to it nonstop

Really? I mean Tame Impala is a pretty popular band. This album was hyped up by a lot of the music press and the singles have gotten radio airplay.
It's a great album

I like some of the tracks on it. But a lot of it feels like filler. Not a very pleasant listen.
It's a great album. Ignore /mu/ contrarian shitposters.
