What have you been listening to recently?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAO2kHrUs0w
Mostly Caribbean and Central American music, lots of pre-Conquistador Indian music and some more recent Calypso based music in preparation for emigration.
Bloody handy Spotify has most of the Smithsonian catalog on there.
Its fun, its upbeat, its different and while production sound might not be up to more Western counterparts, the true authenticity of the Caribbean saw and screwdriver, accordion, guitar and drums with the Calypso background work brilliantly for any Junkanoo.
