It seems like once every month or so you stumble upon an album that seems just a bit more significant and beautiful to you than everything else at that specific time.
What's that album to you as of now, FAMILY?
Songs For Drella by Lou Reed and John Cale.
Water For Thirsty Children by Roy Davis Jr.
currently
Tears in the Typing Pool is just too beautiful

Dizzee Rascal - Boy In Da Corner
John Coltrane - Giant steps

(Same poster here)
Actually scratch all of those, it's got to be Music For Eighteen Musicians by Steve Reich
>>63560081
Lou Reed has far greater albums. Though becoming obsessed by each of his albums is pretty much the usual way one goes through his discography.
Are you very familiar with Lou Reed? What albums do you particularly like?
>>63560081
Really? I think that album is pretty bland and forgettable. Has some pretty moments, and the concept itself is a bit heartwarming perhaps, but I can't even remember a single song from that album
>>63562801
I've listened to the four velvet records and in terms of solo Lou Reed i've listened to Transformer, Berlin and Rock n Roll Animal. I enjoyed them all.
>>63560505
yes, it is
The lyrics to "Randy Described Eternity" are genuinely a good way to describe the concept of eternity
Every thousand years
This metal sphere
Ten times the size of Jupiter
Floats just a few yards past the earth
You climb on your roof
And take a swipe at it
With a single feather
Hit it once every thousand years
'Til you've worn it down
To the size of a pea
dat would take ages
I don't know why, but I'm feeling this.

I just loved the way that Reed and Cale worked off each other during the project and made (at least in my opinion) a solid record despite the fact that swore to never work with each other again due to personal differences.
>>63560505
Such a great record
>>63565383
I really like that. And yes, it would take a while.
>>63560061
It sucks ..
At the moment I don't have one. Just nothing's really clicking for me right now and I don't really know why.
HEALTH - HEALTH
Then I decided to jump to their newest album, and it was much worse, what happened?
>>63565878
They tried to go pop but didn't stick to the theme so they ended up diddling somewhere between. Their debut will forever be their best.
>>63560061
Trials of Van Occupanther by Midlake
>>63560061
this, currently.
Greatest live album of all time, can't stop listening to it
>>63565955
I had this obsession a few months back. Jamming over the ghetto is the most fun you can have on guitar, without a doubt
I think i'm gonna learn Portuguese/Brazilian language
something must have clicked
Can't stop listening to the life of Pablo to be honest.
going through his discog
his version of somewhere on this is fucking great. don't understand why people consider it to be a disservice to the original. his voice really compliments the string arrangement.
>>63565409
This was my fucking jam a couple of months ago. One of my favorite EPs ever.
>>63566963
Excellent choice.
Unison s/t getting a ridiculous amount of plays from me this week.
>>63566995
That album is the tits
Talking Head's first three albums. They seem so boring on the first few listens then they finally click
This shit is insane. I can't believe it came out in 1977.
this and Marque Moon whenever I'm in my car.

It's been a long time since I've been this blown away by an album at the first listen.
you can't judge me

I've only listened to Corporeal and thought it was pretty good, how does the rest of the album compare?
Moar like this please. I'm cumming.

>like once every month or so you stumble upon an album
>like once every month
savour this while this is the case
it's so pleasant
saw them at a house show in Austin last week. the guitar tones keep me coming back 4 more
one of the few albums i found by a /mu/ artist that i actually enjoy
it clicked
I am somewhat obsessed with the thrid track
I don't quite understand it. I remember first listening to this six months ago and not thinking much of it. Listened to it again 3 months ago, was transcribing some of the lyrics that were listed as "???" on certain lyric websites. I still didn't think much of it, but I had a much better understanding of it. Put it on my ipod and would go out for runs with the whole thing playing and I merely saw it as a tool for getting me pumped up for 36 minutes.
But in the last month I think I can honestly say this is my favorite album of all time. Something I never thought I'd say, with all the music that I've listened to I can say this is the one I love the most. The way one track flows to the other, the never ending torrent of angry energy and atmospheric guitars, fucking hell.
A friend showed me "All The Surveyors" and I was hooked.
this has got to be the best album of all time
not waving - animals
idk why but ive been on a repeditive streak lately and i just like to zone out to stuff like this. i think its because of james murphy
took me so long to get around to listening to it. finally getting motivation to pick up the bass again
I regret not getting into this when people actually listened to it. It's great
Skylarking
>>63571414
i was obsessed with this album for a while too. But looking at it now, I only really like 3 songs: Oakland, Sweatpants and 3005. The rest is just mediocore and boring.
>>63571403
The Cool is much better.
>>63571629
What about life the biggest troll?
And I get it, it's slowly coming down for me but i just love the story.
This here in all honesty
>>63571669
It's ok. I'm not saying it's bad, but I guess the album as a whole and most of the songs didn't really stand the test of time for me.
I don't even know why
>>63571714
Yeah I feel you, give it another listen though
>>63560061
painting with just keeps getting better and better
god damn
>>63567346
This! I fucking love his voice on that.
