what's your perfect album length, generally speaking?

what's your perfect album length, generally speaking?
>>
54 min
>>
45 minutes
>>
~35min
>>
depends on the genre really
>>
i like albums that are either around half an hour long or around an hour long
anything less than half an hour is just completely insubstantial, most records over an hour (with some notable exceptions, obviously) don't really have enough ambition to back up the length, and i often find that most albums in the 40-50 minute range could do with either a bit more development or a bit less pointless filler
>>
45 minutes honestly, there are exceptions where an album can keep me interested up to 3 hours but that's pretty rare and anything under 35 minutes feels like there should be more to experience

25 - 120

22 mins

40 minutes.

Bull of Heaven length
>>
It completely depends on the artist/genre/style etc.

but 93:35 is about right
>>
As long as they have enough ideas to keep the songs developed. I'd say a minimum of 35 minutes is fine, but you can keep going so long as you cut the filler.
>>
42 min usually

67 seconds
>>
38-42 minutes
>>
How come i've seen EP's that are 30 minutes and full albums that are 35-40 minutes? It doesn't make sense.

DEPENDS ON THE FUCKING MUSIC

i've never seen an album that ran for 35-40 minutes so you're gay as fuck dude

50 minutes

It basically comes down to what the artist chooses to call it.
Milo Goes to College is 22 minutes long and an album.

This
I'd hate for a grindcore album to be longer than 1 hour
But something like progressive electronics can develop pretty well over 2 hours
>>
>>63558814
a grindcore album shouldn't really be over 35 minutes.
>>
45 min
>>
For the 'rock' genre (excluding prog), typically about 47-60 minutes, +/- 5 minutes. It has to be an exceptionally good album to get passed the magical 52 minute wall though.
>>
>>63557965
About as long as a triple LP
>>
>>63558704
The difference between an EP and an album nowadays is what the artist decides to call it. It used to mean more back when records were common instead of a niche hobby like today, because EPs were generally printed on 7"s which were a lot cheaper to print, but also had less space.
