I guess it's a good time as ever to post this.
Art Angels is a pop record that can't really decide whether it wants to be Avril Lavinge or Bjork. Due to this indecisiveness, it ends up bring all of the flaws of both artists while burying their strengths. She gets Avril Lavinge's excessive and obnoxious aesthetic while bringing none of her catchy choruses and relatability. She gets Bjork's meandering instrumentation while bringing none of her unique and emotionally affecting ones. Grimes' talents make everything in Art Angels competently made, but the idea of Art Angels is essentially self-defeating. It's a pop album that tries to be unique from both top 40 pop and art pop alike, but it's the search for this that makes Art Angels simply fall apart in terms of both songs and cohesion and bring the worst of both worlds while diluting both their inherent, beneficial traits.

There are 2 problems:
1. she was interrupted by that asshole who invaded the stage
2. she forgot the lyrics but she recovered quickly (she always do that with Oblivion for some reason)
Other than that, it's a decent perfomance. Her singing is pretty close to the recorded version and her stage presence is still interesting. Keep in mind that she improved a lost since then simply by playing lots of shows. You don't attend a Grimes show for spectacular virtuosity but for a lot of fun, dancing, goodwill and sweet music.

Maim is an overproduced mess with simply dreadful vocals lifted straight from the Breadwinners and Artangels is a 90s one-hit wonder reject that's plagued with gimmicky sound effects and a overdone riff. Flesh without Blood is the closest thing to anything good on Art Angels but it's just OK and nothing stands out.
