I'm going to assume you've already heard Meteora. Say what you want about them but early Linkin Park did achieve at least a somewhat unique sound. I can't really recommend anything similar but definitely check out Around the Fur by Deftones, undoubtedly the best nu metal album. Science by Incubus is excellent too, they made a really interesting and unique album which I suppose you can call nu metal.

this. I havent heard many that sounds like Hybrid Theory and Meteora. 99.5 % of the nu metal stuff is abslute dogshite, but there's a couple of glimpses of gold in the turd.
