Am I wrong to think this is her best album? It's so fucking dark.

Am I wrong to think this is her best album? It's so fucking dark.
>>
>>63472569

not at all, it's great. One of the best releases last year.

You excited for her new album that she just started working on?
>>
>>63472684
Very much so. Apparently it's the heaven to Vulnicura's hell so sounds great. I love how paranoid and warped sounding the album gets but Bjork embracing her positive side is always a good thing
>>
>>63472706

besides Vulnicura, what's your favourite album? I've been listening to her jazz album Gling-glo recently, and I think it's really underrated.
>>
>>63472569
It's without doubt one of the most personal, emotively deep and brilliant records of the whole 2015, and from the last years in general.
>>
>>63472765
Never listened to it! Probably should. I probably go with Medulla, I fucking love the concept and execution of it so much, really incredible. Vespertine and Homogenic are up there too. Love them all honestly
>>
>>63472765
Never listened to Drawing Restraint 9? It's her most avant-garde and obscure work probably.

Am I wrong to think Post is really overrated? The Highs are stupendous(Oh So Quiet, Hyperballad), but I find Headphones complete garbage and there's a few tracks that fail to make any impression on me like Army of Me

Yes, quite wrong I would say. There isn't a single bad song on Post, except right for It's Oh So Quiet, which is a cover after all.
>>
>>63472943
How do you like Headphones? I don't understand that song at all. The lyrics are garbage, her singing is uninspired, and the production reaches lowercase-levels of boredom. I don't get it
>>
>>63472943
its so quiet is the best song u scrub
>>
>>63473017
It's a well chosen album closer. It's calm, dreamlike, abstract. The little sounds and blips are organized on purpose, and that drone background is a beautiful gauze for the concept of the song. The inner meaning is that it may lull you in the unconscious. Even the lyrics are very inspired if you analyze them carefully.

"sounds go through the muscles
these abstract wordless movements
they start off cells that haven't been touched before
i like this resonance
it elevates me
i don't recognize myself..."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUfDhjjgdn4
>>
>>63473017
Pretty everything on Post is a classic, also I don't think Bjork can go vocally uninspired honestly.

Because she is legendary.
>>
>>63472765
They could have done another Gling-Glò in those years if only the pianist was still alive.
>>
>>63472569
It's great but listen to it enough and you end up depressed too.

If she's got some happier material coming out I'll love that too but I'm holding my breath.

>>63473017
>her singing is uninspired,

What a garbage opinion.

She is only going to incorporate more of those gross hip hop sounds as time goes on, right? And does her singing style ever evolve? I may not actually like her music anymore.

Family is one of the best songs she's ever made
>>
>>63472569
It's good, but she forgot how to do melodies a few years back.
>>
>>63476306
I prefer somber Bjork over happy Bjork to be honest, and actually she hasn't been very happy since Post.

She's incredibly real when it comes to let impressed on you feelings and moods.
>>
>>63476849
>apparently hasn't heard Stonemilker, Lionsong and Quicksand
>>
>>63476877
I thought she was happiest on Vespertine, that's my favourite alum of hers. Maybe happiest isn't the right world, at least on that album it didn't feel like a piece was ripped out of her like on Vulnicura.

Lyrically maybe, musically there's no more outside It's Not Up To You and Heirloom that is really happy. Vespertine is ethereal, introverted, fragile, passionate, subtle in musical words.

At times even dark, look at An Echo a Stain for example.
>>
>>63476667
>>63477028
Family is like going to the pillars of creations, it's a cathartic and illuminating journey.
>>
>>63472893
Damn, she should use more falsetto singing like the one on Storm, it's very beautiful.

And then you could go back to /pol/ aswell

>MUH DIK when dat voice crush
>>
>>63472569
No, but it being dark is not a good reason.
>>
The second half of Family is fucking devastasting. She's managed to perfectly translate an emotion into music with no loss of information, I'm not sure how to describe it
>>
>>63480222
God, her voice can pitch so high.

She could make an optimal black metal as well.
>>
>>63480086
So you're saying that not only do you actually like hip hop music, but you will not take into account the opinions of those who don't, especially if they know more about the evolution of music than you do, since their findings don't adhere to your political narrative? How very liberal.
>>
>>63480222
That voice rattle she can do when she screams is so fucking cool.

Well I'm not even a big fan of hip-hop and I'm by no means a liberal. Saying that you dislike Björk because of her hip-hop influences makes you a person with an opinion. Saying you dislike her because she's influenced by inferior jiggaboo music makes you a /pol/ack.

I had a nightmare two weeks ago in which Björk was a friend of mine and she wanted us to be more than friends. It was problematic because the whole town was against that and once they found out they came to kill me just like a videogame Since that night i've been listenin to her and I finally get it. This and Homogenic are beautiful albums and I'm happy I finally feel them . What do you guys think of Volta and Biophilia?

Last week I dreamed that Björk and I went for a walk in the woods near my parents' home. It was very nice and friendly, tho I have a vague memory of there being hogs which we needed to avoid.

From her first album Debut, or from her first post-punk band Tappi Tikarrass if you want.

From debut to her newest album in order
>>
>>63480447
Debut is a little too dance-y for me. Aside from Human Behavior and Venus as a Boy (There's More To Life Than This, maybe).
>>
that thigh gap is serious
>>
>>63481991
Fascinating.
>>
It's in the top half for me. The middle 3 songs are fucking impeccable and the first 3 are quite solid, but I think she's done better than the album's last third. Seriously though, that Black Lake/Family/Notget streak is in the running for her best 3 song streak.
>>
>>63480462
