My dad said David Bowie was crap because his music sounds like it belongs in children's TV programs.

not a huge fan of "singer" bands
like most people who use their own name for a band, or like don a mantle of the band's name.
some people are good enough to get away with it, you just have to be a very central part of the sound, and possibly do most of it yourself.
