>go to record store today
>go to look around, not really searching for anything particular
>find a copy of Atomizer, looks like a newer repress
>get excited, as I really like Big Black and this was a cool find
>look at price
>$80
>no fucking way
>I know it isn't worth $80
>look it up online
>I could order it online for $16
>tfw
So, vinylfags of /mu/, what would you say your best find ever has been? And how much could you spend on a single record before it becomes too expensive for you?
>drive past record store
>turn around and roll up
>two college kids in all black walk out
>drive away scared out of my mind
Only store in town
barely have any vinyl but i bought the and so i watch you from afar self-titled album for 20 bucks at one of their shows.
only copy on discogs goes for 280 so thats not bad i guess.
>walk into meme store
>check out selection
>dadrock shit and indie rock shit
>look for edm selection
>don't really have anything
>Buy a Barbie Girl single and leave
>buy an anime figure when i get home
did this new memenyl craze start with hipster kids buying lame rock and pop records? where do i find house music singles?
>>63437380
>baiting this hard
I've never had a "good" find. My most interesting one is that I walked into a record store, found a David Byrne record that I hadn't heard of for ten dollars and bought it.
It ended up being Music for "The Knee Plays". It's a pretty good record
>>63437425
nah, man. i don't want any of that dadrock. sorry to say this, but this memenyl stuff is kinda lame. do i have to go to Chicago to find house music?
don't know what your problem is with barbie girl but it's not a bad song
At least you have a record store near you desu.
bought Hello, Dolly by Louis Armstrong, for $5, but most jazz records are cheap anyways
>>63437604
Most people who buy vinyl are looking for dad rock or something with instruments. I don't think i've ever heard of someone buying edm vinyl
bought an original us pressing of piper at the gates of dawn for 30 bucks. I also bought government plates for like 25 bucks on rsd and now its like 300-400 on discogs
>>63437707
>never heard of edm vinyl
>doesnt know what a dj does
come to berlin mate
>>63437707
but a lot of edm was distributed on record. a lot of what you hear on YouTube is ripped right from a record, you can tell from the needle drop and hiss. and DJs play records at clubs so they have to buy edm singles too. i thought it would be great to find some edm singles but if i have to go to a bigger city to get away from dadrock it wouldn't be worth it
>>63437815
>>63437801
i didn't think of it that way. i was just being ignorant
>walk into record store
>hungry
>pull out bag of hot cheetos
>hot cheeto stained fingers help me mark which records i'm interested in
>go to record store to buy station to station
>all the bowie albums jumped up $20-$30 each because or his death
>>63437707
just buy edm vinyls online, i don't know why you would leave the house to do it. usually they are like under 20 dollars straight from a labels site/shop. or if you want some older stuff check out discogs or ebay
>>63437784
Damn. I knew Exmilitary was expensive but I didn't know GP was too.
>>63437111
what the fuck is wrong with you?
>walk into record store
>I don't have a record player because it's not 1950 and I'm not a pretentious wanker more interested in the image that being into music provides than the music itself
>walk out of record store
I found Exuma for 7 bucks.
It's a Brazilian issue in mono, it didn't even had a Discogs entry until I bought it.
>>63439735
>walk into record store
>realized I'm too poor
>walk out of record store
Nice sour grapes
>what would you say your best find ever has been?

NM-
$12
Lightly used original issue of Remain in Light for $20 at Amoeba Hollywood.
Still don't understand how that happened
>>63440267
$20 is still expensive for an album like that, isn't it
>>63440335
not really
>>63440208
>you're too poor to afford my dildo necklace, it cost $200,000,000, each dildo is made from a specially synthesised combination of platinum and diamond
I'd pay upwards to 40$ for a good album. I'm Canadian tho
>>63440368
That's the price of the modern Rhino reissue, RiL is literally a dollar bin record
>>63440399
Whatever floats your boat man
Bought a 45 for $0.50. Flipped it for $300.
