The repetition makes it seem to me that they aren't interested in covering it up at all. And the effects certainly aren't so thick that you can't make out the simplicity of what they're playing.

No, I mean you're not wrong. The drum beat is definitely super similar. But it's not like it's an uncommon pattern or tempo or anything like that. And the atmosphere with the synths and shit on The Future isn't any different from the rest of the album anyway.
