Mystery are one of the most solid neo-prog bands

Also new Phideaux fucking when?
>>

delusion rain felt so lackluster coming off of their last album but theres something about it now. its a completely different type of album for them. it has its subtleties even though the lyrics are more in your face. I thought the willow tree was way too long and redundant first listen but i think now I like it better than everything they've ever written other than another day and through different eyes.

>Roundabout

I understand that its a good song, anon, but if you actually think it's better than Heart of the Sunrise, Close to the Edge, Parallels, Yours Is No Disgrace, or Awaken you have pretty bad taste.
>>
>>63305967
Hes wrong about it being their best, but nothing you mentioned beats it other than Close to the Edge.

What should I listen to after this one?
>>
>>63306171
Fragile
>>
>>63306151
Yea :( but also I always get too excited when someone starts talking about Yes.

>>63306171
I would just run the gamut from The Yes Album (at a minimum, they were psych pop before that) to Going for the One. But if I had to pick one I would probably do Yes Album or Tales from Topographic Oceans if you really like prog.
>>
why is canterbury so magical?
>>
>>63306284
dunno but its a shithole now
>>
>>63306284
I know right that shit is crazy...Soft Machine are amazing too. Third is probably one of my top 20 favorite albums. Also Gong - Camembert Electrique is really good too, a little lesser known.
>>
>>63306330
Don't forget Kevin Ayers, his albums might be light on prog though, but I love them. Even foreign band like Picchio dal Pozzo and Supersister imitating the "canterbury sound" are amazing.

Thanks Anons. So all of Yes from that era is considered good? I do like prog a lot but for some reason I never listened to Yes that much. Close to the Edge just recently clicked with me.
>>
>>63306421
Thanks Anon, I will listen to him after I finish up current album. Others are on the backlog...so much music :(
>>
>>63306494
Yea, I think all that material is really solid...some people don't like Tales that much because they say it is one of the more pretentious prog pieces and too long. But I fucking love prog so that album is really solid for me. Also their first two albums are decent, just not as proggy. Unfortunately the 80s killed them ;(, but they had an album in like 2001 called Magnification that was pretty good too.

Take your time, listening to music like this makes it feel like a chore, at least for me. And at end of the day it's like music becomes fast food, processed, eaten, nice/forfans, next.
>>
>>63306686
Yea I should probably heed your advice. I haven't felt that way yet but I have only been listening for like 9 months

I don't really follow much because there's not much modern prog that I like, but I'm looking forward to the new Thank You Scientist album.

Jojo was the catalyst that got me into prog, I'm not ashamed.
