It was generally unimpressive. It was a let down after their first two LPs and there wasn't a lot of love for it in general here.

Except it's nothing like Sunbather at all. It's Deafheaven's version of an 80's thrash album. If anything it's closer to their debut.
Don't really think it was reminiscent of Sunbather at all actually.
Fucking fade out every song was a huge bummer though. Less post-rock was nice, I think George's vocals are better on this one.
Sunbather is the better album, but NB has some better individual tracks.
i think they need to expand in regards to form and guitar work
the trashy bits were cool but even og thrash's thrash is more cooked
my enjoyment of deafheaven post roads to judah is them using a cool progression of notes or chords but i don't think that's going to sustain my interest anymore
