What's the appeal?
Whenever I listen to a lot of that sorta saccharine, "corporate" popmusic I can't shake the feeling that it's just appealing to some arbitrary dopamine receptor in my brain, and there's not all that much of an intellectual or emotional engagement with it which, for me, is probably the most rewarding part of art. I'm aware I sound like an edgelord, but bear with me.
