prove that Radiohead isn't the most important band of the last 25 year
>protip
>you can't
i agree to be honest
>>63262256
His eye is weird
>>63262256
it is
If there's been a more consistently fantastic band in the mainstream music industry in the last 25 years, I'd certainly be surprised
>>63262256
the were really great, but that's not to undermine other great artists
desu, and I know I'll get hate for this, Kendrick's one to watch. If he drops another one or two projects that on the same level as his current releases, he'll be a living legend
why the fuck does everyone suck radiohead's dick so much
they're generic britpop trash
>>63262806
>2016
>not liking radiohead
>>63262806
>>63262349
>in the mainstream
>consistently fantastic
Faith no More
>in the last 25 years
can't think of any other
Think their new album will be good? Any predictions?
>>63262935
why don't you go suck a dick faggot?
>>63262961
I like how that sounds, babe
may I suck yours?
>>63262943
I'm hoping Jonny has a stronger influence on this record than before. I really think a "modern classical" styled Radiohead release could be gold.
Still love Thom tho <3 <3 xoxo
becuz they suck lmao nerd
>>63262943
they are gonna be headliners in every fucking festival all around the world so I guess it's gonna be good
>>63263002
>>63262983
I'm fucking excited
>>63262349
radiohead are the modern day beatles. simply generic and unoriginal pop pretending to be avant garde
but to answer your question: acid mothers temple have been much more important
>>63263086
TKOL = pop
sempai pls
>>63263086
you have a really bad taste in music, that's for sure
>>63263086
>radiohead are the modern day beatles
Top lel. Every normie and their mother knows about the Beatles. Radiohead will never reach that level of universal popularity, Creep or no Creep.
>acid mothers temple
Literally who?
>>63263042
Yeah, no.
>>63263086
Nice b8.
>>63263153
well, yeah.
speaking as someone who likes the record, all of the songs are written with a pop structure (with the exception of Feral). just because it draws influences from afrobeat, folk, or krautrock, it doesn't mean it's not pop at it's heart.
>Nirvana
>Weezer
>Modest Mouse
>Arcade Fire
>Bjork
>The Flaming Lips
>MF Doom
>The Strokes
>Kanye
...yeah that's all I got, you're right I guess
>>63263086
who?
>>63263190
> not knowing about the most important band of the 00's
back to r/hiphopheads
>>63263299
I'm a pretty important guy, so I highly doubt that I wouldn't know about the most important band of the 00's.
>>63263280
> /mu/ is now full of redditors and /b/tards
kek I bet you think Kid A was the most experimental album of all time kid
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7888r_vKX4
>>63263256
jesus christ. according to your logic then even feral is a pop song. it's got a 'verse' and a 'chorus' 'bridge' and an 'ending. 'you're fucking retarded.
>>63263086
>>63263299
scaruffi is that you?
>>63263299
>>63263382
The Mars Volta are better and actually more creative. They´re a ripoff of Jeff Buckley in their early days. Kid A is just a rip off of Brian Eno sounds. Both artists who made better music.
>>63263382
>/mu/ is full of edgelords who spout memes
This isn't bad but you do realise that importance is often linked with popularity and success? If you think that AMP have influenced as many people as Radiohead then you're just wrong, pal.
>>63263542
The Mars Volta isn't even within the top 20 artists of the last 3 decades, Radiohead sounds nothing like Jeff Buckley, and like 3 songs maybe bump shoulders with Brian Eno
when i think of bands that sound influenced by radiohead, i come up with coldplay, Muse, maybe that travis guy, and then the general popularization of that soaring Thom York-ian type sadness drenched falsetto. Anemic, robotic rhythms and vaguely electronic textures could probably be linked to them too.
My question to you is, how can you not deeply despise Radiohead for unleashing this bullshit upon us?
if you say a band that nobody's heard of
.
.
.
they weren't influential
its not difficult to understand
>>63263849
you have literally no idea
death grips exists.
Seriously, radiohead is just an imitation of pink floyd at the end of the day. DG is real next level shit
>>63264181
???????
is this srs
???????
reminder that radiohead do not pretend to be anything but a pop band
>>63264229
Yep pulk/pull is being played on chadFM daily. It is so lighthearted and catchy that it does not even need a chorus. Seriously though if RH is not one of the most consiistantly creative mainstream bands, who else is? Modest mouse? You would not believe that yourself
>>63263259

>>63263679
It´s in scaruffi´s top 10 of the 2000´s. So it´s /mu approved. And if you don´t think Yorke sounds like Buckley you´re delusional.
The reason Mars Volta are great is because they took to the maximum level until now where complexity, technicality, soul, innovation, and catchiness hold together. There are bands with more technical level of playing and complex, but it just sound´s like they´re playing exercises and not music (example: Dream Theatre, which even some of it´s parts aren´t as complex, like drums and vocals). The thing is that Radiohead didn´t bring anything new to the table, And Mars Volta is the band that pushed rock forward the most until now.
>>63264866
This is some next level cringe
>>63263380
Who are you?
>>63264708
Not everyone on mu gives a fuck about what scaruffi thinks
>>63266699
nice digits
>>63264866
but mars volta was basically zeppelin rock with prog, punk and jazz influence. and they were only good for a very brief moment in time.
>>63262256
Their last "great album" was almost 9 years ago with In Rainbows. That's a sign that they are becoming irrelevant. Tool is doing the same thing, standing on their high horses despite the fact that they stopped MAKING MUSIC.
Which one is right?
>>63262256
>band
I could argue that Modest Mouse, The Strokes, or the White Stripes are just as influential.
>>63264585
10/10 bait
>>63267772
One with less buzzwords probably.
>>63269316
Yeah but Radiohead is the not as shit one of the four
>>63269387
Modest Mouse > Radiohead
>>63263259
And a good chunk of those are incorrect
>>63263042
>posting their worst album
>>63267772
>faux avant-garde
still rustles me ever since scaruffi said it desu. they literally say they're pop
