Now that the dust has settled, what are your honest thoughts on this album?

It's good. Easily his best album since 1980. It's not an amazing masterpiece, but it's a solid album
7,5 tops.

Best bowie album and the only bowie album I actually listen to. Really surprised me usually bowie is for me 6/10. Blackstar was 8/10
>>63258124
Best since SM, its a damn shame too
>>63258124
8/10
It's really good
I think it's pretty excellent, and it's brevity keeps me coming back. Listening to it a lot recently now that the pain of his death is subsiding. Very happy that he went out with this one.
It's p good, bowie is usually shit tho
arguably his best album
I can't see liking an album more this year. I just hope Blackstar doesn't trigger a "Swans-effect"
6/10. I listened to the album the 1st time, 2 or 3 days before he died. I enjoyed it. Listened to it more 4 or 5 times and got bored with it. It didn't hold up very long for me. Blackstar is a great track tho.

People only like it cuz he died :/

swans effect?
>>63261114
when the most recent output of an artist obscures what came before because hispters just discovered it.
Easily AOTY and arguably his best alongside Ziggy, Low, and Station to station

I really liked Blackstar and Lazarus, but the other ones were meh in my opinion.
Also I'm not really a fan of Bowie so I'm kinda biased.
>inb4 salt because he's dead
7,5/10, not his worst, and surprisingly good, but not among his best either.
8/10. Maybe this album is Giles Corey of David Bowie music ? A lot of depression, theme of the afterlife...

>Maybe this album is Giles Corey of David Bowie music
never say that again you dumb 19 year old

once is enough matey
8/10 if he didn't die,
9/10 because he did die.
My biggest problem is that I only got like 3 new songs when it came out so it feels really short.

Its his best album. If not his best, the best final album ever made. Its also a top tier jazz rock album.

A fitting end to a legendary career. RIP sweet prince...

I don't think anybody "just discovered" David Bowie this year.

>Jr. High Schoolers
>High Schoolers
>dipshits
Plenty of people are just discovering him.
>tis a pit-y she was a whore
Still my AOTY
9/10 because it was too short.

This. It's so much better than anything else he's done.
It's fantastic, his best album since Heroes
The context seems to make people flip. I remember when the initial rating on RYM was 3.7, then it rocketed up to 4.0 once he died. It's a 6/10, nothing special.
