>>63241250
>yet another one who fell for the vinyl meme
>>63241250
I have a sony, actually.
And why is buying physical media so wrong? I like supporting the artist but CDs are lame and don't come with the big sexy cover and gatefold.
Twelve years of record collecting
>>63241380
Damn, nice. How many in total?
>>63241380
?
>>63241440
I had a feeling someone was going to do that
Its a country record from an artist that was in northern Illinois if I remember correctly. I haven't seen that record in ages lmao
>>63241440
The madman!
>>63241437
roughly around 3,000
I have one record that I found last week that is electronic music from 1967
>>63241476
Oh wow, I thought it was the Man Who Sold the World alternate cover. Was waiting for someone to ask so I'd have some prime knowledge for once
>>63241516
I can see where the confusion might have come from haha
>>63241502
Ayy, I've collected 258 records over the past year. I'm on track to have a collection like yours in 11 more years if I keep this up.
Do you have your shit on discogs?
>>63241564
Nah. I will now that someone asked. I usually sell them on ebay, because I have a ton of rare records. I actually sold a few to the library of congress. they were old radio broadcasts from a radio station in chicago. It's really hard to sell sometimes because of how many records I have
>>63241250
I don't buy records that much but I know that collecting records is not a meme, I believe that most people who say its a "meme" don't own or know how to use records.
>>63241632
That's dope senpai. What have you sold to the library of congress?
>>63241710
Radio broadcast recordings from the 30's on tape and vinyl. I also sold a few sports broadcasting tapes to local archives
>>63241753
and also wax recordings too
Don't have a picture of my whole collection but here's my proudest addition

Vinyl is the stupidest fucking revival trend in recent memory. How the hell did you fall for that one?
>>63242113
ayyy look at this faggot
>>63242213
Hello, Urban Outfitters PR!
>>63241250
What color is that Ultima II Massage?
I have 95 CDs and about 30+ more albums from iTunes. Get on my level.
Just bought these goodies.

MOV Mr. Bungle are good shit. I really want Disco Volante but it feels incomplete without the Platypus 7" and the secret song actually be a secret song.
>buying vinyl copies of albums that were recorded and mixed digitally
lol
>>63243069
Digital recordings are an improvement, essentially, over analog.
>>63241380
How come you never see collectors with massive libraries like this protect their shit with outer sleeves? Surely it's not that expensive?
>>63243119
it actually is for a 3,000 record collection and the fact that I'm also poor
http://www.amazon.com/100-Record-Outer-Sleeves-Polyethylene/dp/B000RA7IZS
I also ordered a signed copy of Kendrick's new shit. Can't wait for that, but I guess I'll have to since it's not shipping til April.
Also Have a copy of Trout Mask Replica and Deathconsciousness in the mail that should be here relatively soon.
Additionally, I think my VMP for this month arrives on Monday.
>>63243212
Just buy a pack once in a while. As long as you buy sleeves faster than you buy albums you'll eventually have enough for your whole collection. No need to buy 3000 at once.
>>63241380
are they all artists you like/have listened to or is a lot of it random stuff?
either way thats fucking impressive, you probably have even more than either of my local shops
>>63243292
I do have outters for the cream of the crop though, but I just prefer not to. cataloging them is already a bitch
>>63243299
its both
I have some 45's of what is basically royalty free jazz samples from the 40's that radio shows used as non diegetic sound for stories and things
but a good 10% I have still yet to listen to
