One could argue that they single-handedly, unintentionally, fueled the Punk Rock Revolution. Not only that, but his influence and playing style can be seen in countless keyboardist a today, and since ELPs rise to fame. He's not just another musician who's died. His influence is visible, and he is more relevant than glass-lickers like you would understand.

I heard he died on the news a few hours ago but they didn't say anything about a gunshot wound or anything, it sounded like natural causes. It's sad thinking about people being so in love with something (apparently in this case he couldn't play keyboards anymore) that they would kill themselves, even at such a high age.

Eh I think Works is a great album it's just really different from their other stuff.
Regardless to say Pirates isn't one of their best songs is just crazy. It's fucking awesome and it carries on the same spirit that Tarkus and Karn Evil 9 had.
Black Moon the song is also pretty decent. ELP had always been extremely inconsistent. Their average song was nothing special, but their best songs are easily some of the best in the whole genre. You can tell that was how they designed it too though. Songs like Tarkus were clearly the focus with the rest just padding out the album.
