/mu/, I'm listening to this for the first time and it's blowing my fucking mind away, so I got some questions for you all:
1. Did they ever top this record? I doubt it since anyone hardly talks about any other record other than their debut.
2. Artists like Bauhaus, more specifically how they sound in this record?

I do like some of Bauhaus's later albums. Burning from the Inside and The Skies Gone Out.
More like:
The Birthday Party
Early Wolfgang Press
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Tones on Tail

Awesome. Next record I was gonna check out was Sky's Gone Out.
I'll check those guys out. Closest thing to Bauhaus I've listened to is Talking Heads and Daughters, and they seem to fit nicely in between those two.

Early Peter Murphy solo is also pretty good and he made a great album with Mick Karn (of Japan) under the name Dali's Car

I'm feeling this. Strangely reminds me of that Venetian Snares side-project, Poemss (although I know they really don't sound much like them.)
Thanks, man

I'd recommend listening to their second album Mask right after. Just as great.

1. their other records are as good desu (their last one, Burning from the Inside is quite different: it's less ""goth"" but it has great hits)
2. not the same sound, but they they have also theatrical singing & the same dark/goth vibes:

Okay. I guess I'll be going through the Bauhaus discog one by one. It's only 5 records, anyhow.
Thank you for the recc's
On the post-punk flow chart the albums situated next to the Bauhaus one are The Chameleons - Script of the Bridges and Red Temple Spirits - Dancing to Restore an Eclipsed Moon
Don't forget to listen to Bela Lugosi's Dead
It's not on any album, it's only a single

The vocalist of Corpus Delicti sounds quite a bit like Peter Murphy and many of their songs are clearly influenced by Bauhaus.
