Is there a more beta/reddit instrument? Most bass players are such huge betas that they try to hide from attention by playing an instrument that the majority of people won't notice and is next to impossible to fuck up. They lack the drive to be talented, so they avoid skill based instruments like the guitar and drums and instead just repeat the same motions over and over again.
Honestly, if you're not a girl or a black guy in a funk band play the bass, you might as well dress up as a girl and be the little twink whore that you are.

Well, first of all you can play chords on bass
Second of all you can't do noise/feedback solos on bass without looking like a jackass, so there's no hiding behind effects
Catching people's attention with bass is much more difficult than with guitar
You can be much more minimal on guitar; on bass it just looks stupid
Bass in jazz is far more difficult than the guitar
Bass exists in far more genres and far more diverse roles than guitar
And there are more techniques to bass
And also it's much more difficult to play clean on bass
Let's just say that playing bass is easier than guitar, but being a good bassist is much harder than being a good guitarist
