There doesn't seem to be anything on that dude's website about it, and I remember some comment by Dan that he made it all up. Haven't been able to find it again though.

I don't understand why some people get so worked up about whether it is or not, it's a nice piece of writing regardless. I'm more concerned that Dan might never finish that book he was working on.
