>be me, be on /mu/ on and off for a few years
>generally share /mu/'s taste in music
>largely ignore the vaporwave meme mostly due to ignorance and apathy
>finally cave and throw on floral shoppe
>get bombarded with forty minutes of skipping elevator music
you guys seriously think this shit is good? i mean which part do you enjoy, the repetitive electronic horn loops or maybe feeling like you're playing a Shaft video game on the PS1? Perhaps if I took six oxycodone and drank a pint of lean I would understand?
Explain yourselves.
something about retro futurism or dystopian nostalgia

I thought /mu/ finally got over this album. I really only see it perpetuated on other boards

It's shit that people delude themselves into liking because it gives them hipster cred.

The best part of Vaporwave is that it introduces you to a lot of great music from the 80s through the samples, especially Japanese music.

Plunderphonics is better with actually interesting source material.

>implying any 'music' other than harsh noise and field recordings has any redeemable qualities
Vaporwave entices feelings of nostalgia. The chillness of its vibes and the forced uniqueness it throws in your face is dreamy and leaves you curious, ultimately wanting to listen more.

And this is coming from someone who legitly enjoys vaporwave. Its just one of those movements that brings people back in time through the messages the records convey.
You feel something different for almost every track on Floral Shoppe, for me it was ambiguity and mystery. You start to listen closely and you can make out social critiques and underlying anti-capitalist themes within that would take only a regular listener recognize.
