Which Wilco album is better? The more lyrically intricate, less experimental, oft overdshadowed album, or their most game changing and universally loved?

My vote is personally for Summerteeth. I love both, but Summerteeth's straight up lyrical prowess gives it a tad more charm.
i've always preferred summerteeth. better melodies/arrangements IMO. and less corny shit like heavy metal drummer

It really is the album that solidifies Radiohead/Wilco comparisons. So many people know them from OKC or YHF which really were game changing albums, and far too many people just automatically name it as their best. While that opinion isn't wrong by any standards, but it's annoying when you see that's the opinion nearly everyone shares.

I was pleasantly surprised with both The Whole Love and Star Wars, but it saddens me to know Wilco will never make something as good as those two records in the OP again.

The thing is that it really isn't the best album by any means, in that you could make an argument for maybe half of their LPs, then you have people who cannot fathom the idea that people have listened to more than 4 Wilco albums and have their own favorite, it's just obnoxious. I haven't actually heard Sky Blue Sky, but I can tell you that I almost always prefer the Wilco albums that don't take themselves too seriously (Wilco the Album, Star Wars) to the more "serious" ones (A Ghost is Born, the Whole Love)
