I hate everything else in the genre besides The Taxpayers. Pat was folk music for fuck ups. A lot of the fuck ups he attracted were shitty people, unsurprisingly.
But it's folk music in the truest sense. Stories about life at the bottom with simple instrumentation. There's nothing significantly different between Pat the Bunny's approach to music and any of the folk legends like Phil Ochs or Woody Guthrie.
I'll never defend folk punk as a genre but I'll defend Pat the Bunny. Even more respect for him now that he renounced anarcho-punkism bullshit and retired from music to reconnect with his family.
