my little brother has started listening to music for the first time, but he's listening to game soundtracks. I don't want him to get beat up so I was wondering if someone could recommend some electronic that he might like, if he likes generic video game background music, pic related. I really can't help him here I only know metal.

It's you

Does he like EDM? He might like electro house or french house.

He literally doesn't know anything besides what he's heard playing vidya. He's listening to escape from the city from sonic adventure rn lol
>>
>>63007689
Mega Man 2 has a good ass soundtrack. I generally hate video game soundtracks too.
>>
>>63007895
Maybe megaman 2 was a bad example he just happened to be listening to one song from it when I posted this

gorillaz and daft punk, kids always seem to like that
anamanaguchi - endless fantasy (chiptune, video-game-esque stuff)
The Avalanches - Since I Left You
Flying Lotus, either 1983 or Los Angeles, since Cosmogramma and You're Dead! seem a bit too unconventional for a new music listener
Slick Rick - The Great Adventures of Slick Rick
Outkast - Bombs Over Baghdad, The Return of the "G" and Hey Ya! (those always seem to make kids like Outkast)
For videogame soundtracks that are cool and can ease him into other music better, show him the LISA and Jet Set Radio OST's, as well as the Bastion and Hotline Miami OST's.

I started my music listening experience with video game soundtracks too op don't worry about him

He'll grow out of it naturally if he really even cares about music and if he doesn't then it doesn't really matter to be h

If he likes SNES rpg soundtracks he'll probably like Giant Claw- Deep Thoughts. Also some stuff by Soichi Terada, the guy who did the Ape Escape soundtracks, is pretty great.
Also this >>63008004, a lot of people have the "only video game music" phase, if he does have a legit interest in music his taste will expand naturally

Yes, actually

If he likes a lot of Japanese videogame soundtracks, he might like some Jpop like Ayumi Hamasaki, The Brilliant Green, and Supercar.
>>
>>63008929
I know it's not the coolest of genres to listen to, but it's a start.
>>
show him future bass like sushi killer, hyper potions, etc. it's electronic, very melodic, and usually has chiptune elements too.

Most Megaman X soundtracks are pro as shit

if you're looking more orchestral and shit (if your brother is like me and likes video game music just for the sake of videogame music and doesnt care about genre)
ANY Final Fantasy song from 1-7 is pretty pro
and Zelda is always a good choice

look up OCremix.org your bro will think it's cash

if he likes sonic music, the first two games were composed by the bassist and main songwriter for the band dreams come true which he might enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwk3Vt-Apd4

michael jackson and his songwriting team composed a lot of music for sonic 3, stranger in moscow was confirmed to be based on the credits song for that game that they had written: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTtir5u-UjY

in general the jazz fusion band casiopea has had a ton of influence on a lot of video game composers. the guitar on this track might remind him of some of the songs from sonic adventure 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaSrTDE0i2Q
