While SJ is the happiest point of theirs as a group I don't think it's up near the top 3 or 5.

It's different for every person. Depends on what type of vibe you like. I think each album deals with a different central theme and gives a different emotion when listening. I love it.

What happened to them after Merriweather? They started putting out albums every three to four years instead of every year or every other year, and they started making bad or at best underwhelming albums instead of good or amazing albums.

Panda moved to Lisbon, Portual which made it a little more difficult to get together to jam. Avey went through a divorce, Deakin went on a trip to Africa, they all just kinda started doing their own things and Animal Collective sat on the back burner for a bit.
But yeah, Panda moved, Avey divorced, Deakin was traveling and Geo was just here like "when we gonna jam again?"

Hollindagain just never really sat well with me. I only like Pride and Fight and Forest Gospel. It's not a terrible album, just not my favorite.
Also, Painting With is fantastic. I don't care what anyone says. Centipede Hz is kinda meh, really only like Moonjock, Rosie Oh, Newtown Burnout and Monkey Riches.
Can we talk about Transverse Temporal Gyrus? How many of you have heard it? It's 6 years old (holy fucking shit!) and I don't ever really see it brought up in AnCo threads...
