Not too big a fan of niggas on the moon, but Jenny death is sublime and very very interesting, with some incredible tracks like smash mirrors, on gp, the powers that by. I came into this album after it was released, not really being a big death grips fan, and I enjoyed it immensely. Hearing about the musical blue balling that dg gave to their fans about this album, I guess that it didn't live up to the hype but it sounds good on its own merit.

Kanye is an overrated idiot with too many dumb fans for his own good. His word is given way too much weight, and I really couldn't care less what he has to say about critics after the Luke warm mediocrity stew that is the life of Pablo. This is why I appreciate kendrick so much more, he's clearly a black artist in terms of where he draws inspiration for his work, but unlike Kanye, he embraces the cultural power of music and wants people of all races and creeds to listen to his music and enjoy it. Of course dumb racists can only hear the dindu nuffin parts of his music but there's so much more to it than that.
To summarize: Kanye needs to shut the fuck up, turn off his social media accounts for a year, lock himself in a room away from his fat ape of a wife and work on something that's genuinely good. Until then he has no right to complain about critics.

There's more to it than that, I think that in terms of album feel, the money store just captures the tone they were going for perfectly, and while it may not be as personal as later albums, it's still a phenomenal work.

When JD came out I was kind of disappointed that it was so incredibly accessible compared to NotM and GP, and after a couple of listens, I couldn't bring myself to listen to the whole double album for almost an entire year. Now I love this shit.
TLOP made me sleep the first time I listened to it. Now I'm finding that it's pretty good. Still, while Kanye is certainly an important figure in the current rap paradigm, I wouldn't doubt that even his large ego recognizes that Death Grips has pretty much sparked (in the same way punk/post-punk did for rock music) the likely evolution and logical next step for hip-hop by rejecting the status quo in favor of raw expression and the creative freedom that comes with deconstruction
