No but even if that were the case there's more to music than just that. Old CC genuinely sounded like what the band's name is, Butchered At Birth was a half hour assault of pure filthiness that reflects the brutal aspect of death metal. Granted I think Suffocation, Pyrexia, Disastrous Murmur, Baphomet and various other old school brutal death metal bands did it better but that doesn't exclude what CC had accomplished. Now their music is a watered down and polished version of what it used to be. It's edgy song titles with catchier hooks and cleaner riffs, it's brutal death metal in name only as is the case with most bands that followed the dumbed down trend in the genre Fisher-era CC and Dying Fetus started.

Meshuggah straight up play the same note over and over in a polyrhythmic style at various speeds, their drummer is the only one in the band who even does something remotely interesting. They're less annoying than most djent but are fucking annoying nonetheless. It's like þe guitarists listened to the song Spheres Of Madness and then found a way to make a career out of playing it.

You're missing out on a whole aspect of meshuggah's greatness though. They're masters at crafting atmosphere, their vocalist has some of the best harsh vocalism in metal (he's able to sound absolutely inhuman for entire record stretches) and their lyrics are, at the risk of sounding le pretentious, poetic. They have mastery over the english language even though they're not native speakers.
But, I totally understand not liking meshuggah if you just want melody.
