>If an Avey Tare records an album in the woods, and no one is around to listen to it is it still perfect? Recently this first official release by Animal Collective has undergone a bit of a Renaissance. Many new fans and old are revisiting the album and lauding it with praise. However if Avey Tare stopped making music after this, if this is all we had of Animal Collective, would we all still love it so much? At its best the CD combines simple arrangements with minimalist electronic samples and a hushed Avey Tare singing. Panda Bear's drums are prevalent in some songs, but this is mostly an Avey Tare run LP. Portner was only around 17 when he recorded the majority of this LP, and this is clearly reflected in the juvenile style, theme, and lyrics of the song. Some structure begins to emerge on repeat listens, but with all the better Animal Collective out there, why can't this CD just stay in the past?

this term is PROPERLY used in cases of ambiguous genitalia (i.e. intersex) which is quite rare. the coercive part means that the doctor couldn't decide and therefore stuck with male. considering TCB's facial bone structure, I... don't think they have the lower testosterone levels typical of intersex people, so this probably isn't that sort of case.
