He was the frontman of the Beach Boys, who produced a brilliant album (Pet Sounds) before going pretty crazy on acid, coke, and other shit and basically disappearing. Somewhat recently, his followup to Pet Sounds, which was abandoned when Wilson lost his shit, was released, first as a re-recorded version and later using the original recordings.
