I was just thinking today how ridiculous the Classics section of the /mu/core essentials tend to be. I have never seen a single post on /mu/ talking about Cosmo's Factory, Aja, Otis Blue, Music from Big Pink, etc. but I have seen several talking about this album as well as Damaged, yet they aren't included.

There rest are supposed to be just good albums, mostly.

This. The /mu/core section is so you can keep up with the memes and get a quick cross-section of a bunch of different genres while you're at it. The other sections are there to provide good starting points for the genres you want to learn more about.
