The elements just don't blend, at all (for me at least). Reed's vocals on their own are interesting and artful, and Metallica's instrumentation is bland but competent, but together they just create this... unpleasant distasteful mess.

I think I like De Sade more as an idea than an actual author. Although I still get some lewd pleasure from his writings and I do think Philosophy of the Boudoir is actually pretty good.
As far as poetic smut writers go I don't think I'll find anyone as good as Jean Genet or Georges Bataille, but I'd like to be proven wrong.

Reading is mostly for nerds but I'm sure if you explore a little bit you'll find something out there that tickles your fancy. If you're into horror stuff you should pick up The Weird Compendium. It's a lot of short stories with some duds here and there but also some really great stuff if you want a ton of authors thrown at you to decide what you like.
