It's undeniably unique for its age, even in comparison to Scott Walker Who at the time his most recent record was Tilt, even then those two records are not much alike despite Outside being Bowies most Walker esque album even to this day.
It also is super varied, with incredible musicianship and songwriting from start to finish. Small Plot of Land is also easily one of Bowies best songs.
