something cathartic, just anything in line with how I'm feeling. When I'm feeling really shitty I usually indulge in junk food and get comfy to movies/gaymes, don't do the junkfood thing unless you have a good metabolism though atleast not regularly

The Deep Dark Woods
La Dispute
Jon and Roy
Trespassers William
Kid Cudi
Son House

That's one of the problems of holding your strong emotions inwards. One day is just all hits you like a wave of reality. I think if you can't be open and accepting of your emotions, you at least need an outlet of some sort to help deal with them.

No, anger is what happens when people realize that wallowing in sadness is for pussies. Anger is the preferable alternative to sorrow.

Because yes, there's such a thing as pussies. They can be recognized by their fetishistic overuse of the "that feel when" meme.

It's really the other way around, anger is just dread with energy, once you use up the energy all you're left with is the cold hard truth, the true path is love for the self and only then can you truley love others and have them love you back.
>>
>>61904070
Yeaaaah. Oh man now I'm gonna go stare at a wall, you got the tune in my head :(

noise and atonal music, played really loud
>>
>>61904154
Boy you must feel really cool spouting that pseudo-existentialist nonsense. I bet it goes really well with that coffee and cigarettes diet you've got going on huh?

Here's the cold hard truth: sadness as an emotion is power you unlock by turning it into anger.
Sadness as a state of mind is a choice you make because it seems easier and more glamorous to you. Because you're afraid of the consequences of getting angry, (i.e. being called "edgy" by meanies on the internet) you choose to remain sad.
The truth is that as long as you keep being sad, you deserve it, because you're doing it to yourself.
>>
>>61904239
Being afraid of meloncholy and introspection is a weakness, being an angry grunt is weakness too

i have tons of stuff in my library that i have yet to listen to. when i'm really depressed i usually just shuffle the entire thing. the sense of wonder it conveys tends to calm me and it's 100x better when I'm drunk or under the influence of something else

im trying to find this album right now. all i can remember is it had the word girlfriend or girl in it, it was lo fi for sure, and i think the cover was an old photograph or maybe black and white of a girl or a swing or something.

i probably just described like 100 different albums but fuck i really need to find it. it might have also had the words death, suicide, murder, kill, or witch or something related to these words.

>>
>>61902255
This happened to me. I was watching a movie with my girlfriend and after I asked if she liked it and she said it was boring. That broke the wall and i started to ball. It had nothing to do with her not liking the movie, I couldn't care less. I'be been struggling with some depression and I guess that broke it and I cried.

>>61906227
I just personally feel like it takes away from the theme of whatever album I'm listening to by putting it in a playlist.

By coincidence, today, I created a huge hip hop playlist. Although I enjoyed the music, it felt weird hearing so many songs outside of their album form.
>>
>>61906242
so i can find those songs easily if i want to listen to them; if i'm sad, i just open the sad playlist, pick a song, and listen to it over and over. i don't have to dig for a certain song. plus then i can post it in threads like this.
>>
slit your wrists while you listen to Joe Budden
>>
>>61906243
not him. i listen to my music on shuffle sometimes, like all of it. i listen to the full albums too sometimes though. the neat thing is that you can get a really big appreciation for a track by itself when you hear it out of place. cause while it was a part of something bigger, when you hear it just alone it can really start to stand out more as a highlight when you go back and listen to full album

but thats just me desu.
>>
>>61906267
i'd slit my wrists if i had to suffer through a joe booty song too
>>
>>61906274
I completely understand where you're coming from. This has kind of given me a new perspective on it. I need to create more playlists. Its a shame a lot of my music is from so many different genres, so it'd be a struggle trying to put some of it together. Shuffling might be a good idea though.
>>
>>61906242
Our daddy told us not to be ashamed of our dicks, especially since they're such good size and all.
>>
>>61906264
Wouldn't you rather listen to an album that embodies that emotion, rather than a bunch of random music from different composers?

>>61906243
Same here. I use to listen to half albums and singles and shuffle full albums. Never though anything of it, then on a road trip when I played an album and they realized I was shuffling, they told me it sounds better if I play it from 1-10 or whatever and not shuffled. They did that and I saw the difference in how I saw the album and have done that ever since.
>>
>>61906318
A lot of albums are following in some kind of chronological order too. For the most part anyway.

With the hip hop playlist I created, a lot of it felt like it made no sense outside of the context of the album, even though some of them were the singles off the album.
>>
>>61906318
Relax.
>>
>>61906274
I feel like some albums can't ever be played but all at once. Others can, But GY!BE can really only be played all at once. But others can be played singled out and it's fine. It's just how it was written I guess.
>>
I usually listen to metal or top 40 if I'm sad. They both can help me get over it in their own way.
>>
>>61906343
I'm not arguing, just talking. I'm interested in how people look at music and albums and whatnot.
>>
>>61906318
I listened to full albums as well but it never clicked with me like it did you. Maybe it has to do with people listening for mood vs people listening for theme? Or maybe stability of mood as well?

I still always listen to albums once or twice first go and revisit them in full but otherwise not so much.
>>
masturbation will turn a sad song into a happy song too. I've tried it with Joe Budden songs several times
>>
>>61906359
No I meant relax about the way you listen to your music. 95% of it does make sense outside of the context of the album.
>>
>>61906376
I dunno, I guess it clicked in that sense of theme and how it made me feel as a whole. I guess a big downside to listening to full albums is that sometimes you have to commit, especially if they're long, or i'm not 100% in the mood of the album. playlists and singles can be different in that regard
>>
>>61906394
