I've only heard a couple of his songs. give me some real opinions on Kanye's music, not Kanye, just his work
Lyrical content leaves much to be desired. Production however is second to none.

any suggestions for a starting point?

Graduation or anything pre MBDTF
808s us not like the others
IMO yeezus and beyond is not worth listening to
His work is to hire dozens of people to come together and produce music, write his lyrics, and then put his name on the final product.
If you think its any different, you're delusional. I'd love to hear a track by Kanye that doesn't have other writers, but that'll never happen because that's not where Kanye's talent lies. His talent lies in marketing.

Start at with College Dropout and listen to discography chronologically.
>>61900820
Start with The College Dropout or MBDTF but preferably chronologically
>>61900859
Pretty sure he writes his own lyrics, which is why they're straight garbage

yeezus is great OP don't listen to this pleb. u just need to familiarize yourself with kanye before listening to it.
>>61900914
Yeezus is diet death grips to be honest familia
>>61900892
Naw, he definitely has ghost writers. Remember when Kanye insisted that Nikki Minaj wrote that verse for Monster? Such a blatant lie makes the entire house of cards fall down.
Gorgeous has pretty good lyrics. I heard Kanyes ghost writer died after that album, which us why the lyrics on Yeezus are a joke.

Only cause the beats are kinda "industrial" sounding. Couple songs (On sight, Black Skinhead) kinda sound like DG songs, but songs like Hold my liquor, Blood on the leaves and Bound 2 sound nothing like DG. My first couple listens of yeezus i didn't like it but now I think it's one of his strongest albums.
facts is really good.

Oh yeah he definitely hired dozens of producers to make the beats at the start of his career, huh?

His albums are best listened to in chronological order, Ye expects you to know who he is and it really adds to the lyrics when the context is given, this is especially true on 808's and beyond.
>>61900782
College Dropout is kind of retarded sometimes but it's solid; Late Registration is beautiful (and also retarded sometimes); Graduation is fun; 808's is by far his most accomplished and seminal work; MBDTF would be better than 808's if it wasn't for the dogshit mixing; Yeezus pulls at straws.
The new singles aren't even worth checking out.

>Naive enough to imply that kanye's identity is not intertwined with his music
