What do you think of it compared to other songs on Exmil? I love Guillotine, Takyon, Spread Eagle, Lord of the Game because they have their own "personality". Guillotine has that echo effect and repitition/glitch style. Takyon is aggressive and very energetic, Lord of the Game kind of sounds like a TMS track with more emphasis on electronic stuff, Spread Eagle's guitar fits well and Ride changes up the vocals a lot. Beware just seems...bland.

I think compared to those, 'Beware' is the most obvious mix of primal/animalistic/organic and industrial cyberpunk feeling, perhaps primarily due to the raw streched out obvious samples used and the lyrical content. I mean the lyrics feel like they came out of a different concept album altogether. The ruthless sampling just makes it a washed out, pulverizing and angry experience. I don't think that kind of texture is present on their other songs. Honestly, the album cover they used. Pic related, the photo of that guy, his facial expression, the background, everything. You can really feel the heat coming out of that picture and I think 'Beware' is the most obvious candidate as to what comes to my mind when looking at the photo. I don't even think about the rest of the album when looking at the pic, I just think of 'Beware'. It's probably no surprise that the song seems to exist so largerly in it's own vacuum upon closer inspection, because I remember reading that it was added to the track listing at the last second or something. I could be wrong though.

nah dawg, govt plates feels incomplete, like a demo or something. notm has some of the most personal, dark while simultaneously uplifting shit going on, and musically it's so dense and wonderful. I really wish Jenny Death was more in the vein of that album, but alas, it's also pretty cool. I think TPTB acts as a sort of yin/yang in that way, with both discs reflecting the whole of what death grips has been and pointing towards what it may become
